Coronary Circulation
Circulation of blood in blood vessels that supply the heart muscles (myocardium).
Coronary artery
Supply oxygenated blood to heart muscles.
Coronary arteries supply oxygenated blood to heart muscle and cardiac vein drain the blood once it has been deoxygenated.
Cardiac vein
Cardiac Vein returns deoxygenated blood from myocardium to right atrium through coronary sinus.
Coronary artery and vein
Coronary artery
The arterial supply of coronary circulation is provided by right and left coronary arteries both arising from base of Aorta and encircling heart in coronary sulcus.
Heart receive its own supply of blood from coronary artery.
1. Right coronary artery , Two branches
Arises from Aorta near right cusp of Aortic valve.
A. Marginal artery, serve myocardial, lateral right side of Heart.
B. Posterior interventricular artery (posterior descending artery).
Runs to heart apex and supply posterior ventricular wall.
Together branches of right coronary artery supply right atrium and nearly all right ventricle.
2. Left coronary artery, Two branches
A. Anterior interventricular artery (left anterior descending artery)
B. Circumflex artery
Continue around left side of Heart in coronary sulcus.
It supplies left atrum and small portion of left ventricle.
Aorta
1. Right coronary artery
Marginal artery
Left, Right
Posterior interventricular artery
2. Left coronary artery
Anterior interventricular artery
Circumflex artery
Coronary sinus and coronary veins
Coronary veins
Great cardiac vein Middle cardiac vein Small cardiac vein
At carried blood from apex. Small cardiac vein is in coronary sulcus
.. Coronary Sinus. and drains right side of Heart.
