 Plasmodium malaria

Malaria is infectious disease of red blood cells caused malaria in humans.

The parasite is transmitted through bite of female Anopheles mosquito.

Malaria caused by one of four species of genus plasmodium. These are;

1. Plasmodium vivax

2. Plasmodium oval

3. Plasmodium malaria

4. Plasmodium falciparum


P. Vivax; trophozoites; ring form /schizonts (mature form); enlarge RBC, merozoites 

P. Falciparum; trophozoites; ring form, multiple ring form /schizonts (mature form); normal size of RBC

P. Malariae; trophozoites; ring form /schizonts (mature form)

P. Ovale; trophozoites; ring form /schizonts (mature form)
