 Immunoglobulin G (Ig G) 

It is the smallest immunoglobulin.

Ig G is major immunoglobulin that constitutes about 80% of the total serum.

It is equally distributed in intravascular and extravascular compartments.

It is the only Immunoglobulin cross the placenta.

Ig G pass through placenta and provide natural passive immunity to neonates.

Function

Main antibody of secondary response.

Neutralize toxins.

Provide natural passive immunity in the newborn.

Neutralize virus and kill bacteria or toxin

Ig G binds to microorganisms to enhance phagocytosis and lysis.

Killing antigen with the help of natural killer cell.

Participate in;

Allergic reaction

Precipitation reaction (help determine the presence of antigen; soluble form)

Complement fixation 

Mass antibody of secondary response.

Neutralize toxins
