White Blood Cells (Leukocytes)
Leukocytes are largest blood cells. These are clear or whitish coloured cells.
Leukocytes count; 4000-11000/mm3 of blood.
Leukocytes do have Nuclei.
Cells are able to move about independently and pass through blood vessel walls into the tissues.
Leucocytes leave the circulation and enter tissue by diapedesis.
Diapedesis
Diapedesis a process in which they become thin and elongated and squeeze through the pores of capillary walls.
Most leukocytes are motile and having amoeboid movements.
WBCs are attracted to inflammed tissue areas by Chemotaxis.
Types of white blood cells
Based on presence or absence of granules leukocytes are -
