Spinal cord
Spinal cord is part of central nervous system which is suspended in vertebral canal surrounded by meninges and CSF.
Spinal cord is long, thin, cylindrical structure, which extends from medulla oblongata in brainstem (foramen magnum) to lumbar region of vertebral column. It is approximately 45cm longs thickness of little finger. A specimen of CSF can be taken using procedure called lumber puncture.
