Diabetes mellitus

When body can't take up sugar (glucose) into its cells to use as fuel.

Too much glucose in bloodstream.

2. Disorders of thyroid gland

a. Congenital Hypothyroidism

Under-developed thyroid gland.

Absent or fail to function thyroid gland properly.

b. Hyperthyroidism

Overactive thyroid

3. Disorders of adrenal gland

1. Adrenocortical hypofunction

Adrenal cortex not produce enough cortisol hormone.

a. Cushing's disease

2. Adrenocortical hyperfunction

Excess cortisol secretion by adrenal gland.

b. Addison's disease

1. Disorders of Anterior pituitary

a.Growth hormone deficiency (GHD)

b. Precocious puberty

When child body begins changing into adult (puberty).

Too soon appearance of physical and hormonal signs of puberty.

c. Pituitary Gigantism (high level of growth hormone)

Disorders of salt and water metabolism marked by;

Intense thirst and heavy Urination

Kidney unable to conserve water or unable to prevent the excretion of water.
