Blood Supply of cerebrum
Blood flows to brain mainly by internal carotid and vertebral arteries.
Internal carotid arteries (branch of common carotid artery) supply blood to anterior brain and vertebral arteries supplying blood to brainstem and posterior brain.
Vertebral arterial branch from subclavian arteries.
The rate of cerebral blood flow is amount 750ml/minute, or 15%'of cardiac output.
Cerebral circulation is movement of blood through network of cerebral arteries and veins supplying the brain.
Arteries deliver oxygenated blood, glucose and other nutrient to brain, and vein carry deoxygenated blood.back to heart, removing CO2, lactic acid and other metabolic product.
Internal jugular vein return blood from head to heart.
Circle of Willi
Circle of willi formed by two group of arteries. Internal carotid arteries and vertebral carotid arteries. These arteries provide anterior and posterior circulation of brain.
