CSF secreted into each ventricle of brain by the choroid plexus.
Choroid plexus are network of capillaries in wall of ventricles.
CSF Colour and appearance
CSF is slightly alkaline with specific gravity is 1.005.
CSF is clear, colourless, odourless fluid.
Rate of formation
CSF is secreted continuously at a rate of about 0.5ml per minute (20-25ml per hour), 720ml per day.
Volume
CSF volume remains fairly constant at about 80-150ml.

Na, K, Ca, Mg, Cl, HCO3, cations, anions
Glucose
Plasma protein (smAll amount)
Urea, creatinine
Few lymphocytes
Protein 20-25% small amount of albumin and globulin
