Kwashiorkor
Most common and widespread nutritional disorder in developing country. May be due to acute illness/infection.
Deficiency- this disease is causes by deficiency of protein. Inadequate amount of protein in diet.
Child appearance- flabby, moon face because of less muscle wasting
Digestive system- diarrhoea and vomiting present
Weight- Wight loss is marked up by oedema. Oedema is an important systoms of this disease.
Edema or swelling of the hands and feet.
Mental status- mental status changed due to less protein metabolism and supply to brain tissue.
Face appearance- moon face
Skin appearance- scaly skin, dry skin
Stomach- stomach bulging
Hepatic - hepatic enlargement
Appetite- appetite is poor, associated with depigmentatiom of skin
Hair colour- sparse and greyish hair.
