Reflexes
Reflexes action, known as reflex, is a rapid, automatic, unplanned and immediate response to stimulus.
Reflex action are mediate via reflex arc.
Reflex protect our body from things that can harm it.
For an example; if we put our hand on hot stoves, a reflex causes us to immediately remove our hand before message receive brain.
Types of reflexes
Innate reflexes ; predictable motor response
acquired reflex; experience, time and effort required
Spinal reflex; integration occurs in spinal cord
Cranial reflex; when integration process occurs in brainstem
Somatic reflex; involve involuntary control, contraction of skeletal muscle
Visceral reflex; involved responose of gland, smooth, cardia muscle, for example, constriction of pupil in response to increase light.
