Classification of muscle tissue
1. According to structure
A. Striated muscle tissue
Microscopic band seen in muscle cell.
Such as skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle.
B. Non-striated muscle tissue
No band seen in muscle cell.
Such as smooth muscle cell.
2. According to function
A. Voluntary muscle tissue
Consciously controlled.
For example, leg, hands
B. Involuntary muscle tissue
Not consciously control
For example, Heart and internal organs
3. According to location
A. Skeletal muscle
Attached to skeletal/ bones
B. Smooth muscle (Visceral muscle)
In viscera or hollow organ; stomach, intestine
C. Cardiac muscle tissue
In heart.
