National Rural Health Mission (NRHM)
NHRM was given in 2005.
The major goals of NRHM were;
1. Reduction in infant and maternal morbidity rate.
2. Prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
3. Strengthening the referral units.
4. Strengthening the working of the healthcare professionals in provision of quality care
Strategies of NRHM
1. It aims to enhance capacity of the Panchayat to own control and manage public health services.
2. It also worked on strengthening of the Aashaworkers in improving house to house care.
3. It also has strengthed the rural areas with improving the facilities for drinking water, sanitation and hygiene.
4. It also helps in strengthening the care to mother and child thus improving the mortality and morbidity rate.
