Urethra/ Function of urethra
Urethra is tube of smooth muscle.
Transport urine outside body during urination.
Passage way through which urine is discharge from body.
In female, urethra only about 4cm long.
Female urethra is only for urination.
In male,
Male urethra is 18-20cm long.
Male urethra function is urination and expulsion of seman.
Sphincters of Urethra
1. Internal Urethra sphincter
Involuntary in nature.
2. External urethral sphincter
Voluntary in nature.
Control flow of urine through urethra and responsible for voluntary holding of urine.
