Antigen
Antigen are substance that can stimulate an immune i.e stimulate the production of antibodies. Mostly they are protein in nature.
A substance that enters the body starts process that can cause disease. The body then usually produce antibodies substance to fight the antigen.
Properties of Antigen
1. Forignness; harmful, dangerous, foreign substance.
2. Size; Larger molecular, highly antigenic
3. Chemical nature; mostly nature in protein, more dangerous
4. Susceptibility and degredation
Antigen easily phagocytosed and broken down.
5. Antigenic specificity; ability of host cell to recognized antigen.
Antigen react with antibodies which are induced by them.
Particular species passes species antigen.
