Biomedical waste means any waste generate during healthcare, research, testing or relate procedures on human beings or animal conducted in hospitals, clinics, laboratories or similar establishment.


Biomedical waste more dangerous than domestic wastes.

It contains infections or other Hazardous materials that may; injure or harm patients, their visitors, hospital personnel and the public.

According to the "Gazette of India" Biomedical waste means any waste which is generated during diagnosis, treatment or immunization of human being or animals or in research activities, or in any productive or testing of biomedical and including categories mentioned in schedule one.
