Hepatitis E viral infection that causes liver inflammation and damage.
Hepatitis E virus mainly transmitted through drinking water contaminated with faecal matter.
There are no vaccine available for Hepatitis E virus.
Hepatitis E mailu affect the pregnant women, particularly in third trimester of pregnancy.
Structure
It is spherical, non enveloped single stranded RNA virus.
Source and mode of Transmission
1. Ingestion of fecally contaminated water.
2. Consume food contaminated with feces.
