Daily requirements of macronutrients exceeds 100mg
Absorbed in large quality

Deficiency result in kwashiorkor, marasmus, malnutrition
Overconsumption leads to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity.

Micronutrients
Also called minor element / trace element
Micronutrients are the nutrition element required in small amounts.
Examples are iron, cobalt, iodine, zinc, lead.
Micronutrients helps various functions of the body, growth and development and disease prevention.
Daily requirement of micronutrients (trace element) is less than 100mg.
Absorbed in small quantity
Deficiency results in anaemia, goiter, scurvy.
Overconsumption leads to nerve damage
