Brain constitutes about one-fiftieth of the body weight and lies writhin cranial cavity, consist of four main parts-

1. Cerebrum;forebrain

2. Diencephalone; 

Thalamus; forebrain

Hypothalamus; forebrain

3. Brainstem

Medulla oblongata; hind brain

Pons; hind brain

Midbrain; inferior colliculi, superior colliculi

4. Cerebellum; hind brain
