National programmes related to child health and welfare
In an order to reduce the mortality and morbidity rates in mother and child, department of health and ministry of health and family welfare has given certain programmes in an order to achieve public health goals-
1. National health policy, 2001
2. Universal immunization Programme
3. Child survival and safe motherhood (CSSM)
4. Reproductive and child health programme (RCH)
5. Diarrhoeal Disease control programme (IMNCI)
6. Nutritional programme

NHP was given by government of India in 2001 for the achievement of certain public health goals, which needs to achieved by 2015, (polio 2015 eradication).
Goals are;
1. Eradication of polio
2. Reduce IMR (infant mortality rate)
3. Reduce MMR (maternal mortality rate)
