Grief
Grief is defined as the reaction towards prolonged illness and sign of declining health.
Grief is usually caused by deterioration in the condition of health, illness or death of loved ones.
Bereavement
Bereavement is a state of mourning in which happens when the closed one dies due to any illness or environmental cause.
Mourning
To feel or expression of sorrow for someone's death.
Stages of Grief in the Paediatric Patient
1. Denial

Happens only after 15 years of age.

Nursing responsibilities for grief and Bereavemeent
1. Assess the condition of child every throughly.
2. Maintain effective communication with the child
3. Involve the caregivers in providing care of children.
4. Plan the diversional activities for the child
5. Make the child busy in certain other activities
6. Encourage the Pediatric patients to involves themselves in the playing therapy.
7. Be patient and calm while listening and communicate with child.
