In order to maintain the maternal and child health services along with improvement of heath status of an women and children, the government of India launched reproductive and child health Programme in 1997.

Child Health Intervention
1. Universal immunization Programme
2. Control of acute respiratory infections
3. Essential newborn care
4. Oral rehydration therapy for Preventionbof diarrhea
5. Excessive breast feeding and timely weaning

Latest concept of Reproductive and Child Health Programme
1. All the government official are being involved in decision making and monitoring at running health schemes in the country.
2. The health care workers are involved in planning the delivery of health care services and deal with proper antenatal and postnatal checkups.
3. They also deal with identification of light risk pregnancy.
4. They also deal with planning the proper utilization of immunization among pregnant women and children.
5. The health care professional are dealing with improving the health care services to both mother and child all over the country.
6. The government has made "RCH- PORTAL" which is basically design for early identification and tracking the individual throughout the reproductive life cycle of women.
7. The current RCH Programme has been a great success in maintaining the health of a reproductive women and the in order to reduce the mortality and morbidity rate
