Coxiella
It has two pathogenic species;

2. Rochalimaea quintana

It differs from rickettsia in various aspects that it doesn't infect human beings through anthropods, as it enters human body through;
1. Inhalation; contaminated dust
2. Abrasion
3. Consumption of milk from infected animal
These organisms are resistance to heat and drying it transmits infection in animals through anthropod bite.

Pathogenesis
Classic Q fever is an interstitial pneumonitis that may be associated with hepatitis, myocarditis or encephalitis.
Man to man transmission is rare.
