Immunoglobulin D (Ig D)
It constitute O.2% of serum antibodies and is mostly intravascular.
Ig D present on the surface of B- lymphocytes and serves as recognition receptors for antigens.
It has the highest carbohydrate content among all the immunoglobulin.
Function
The function of cell membrane is to bind Ig D with crossponding antigen that leads to specific stimulation of B- cell.
It is present on surface of B- lymphocytes along with Ig M.
