Events of Second of Labour

Events of 2nd Stage of Labour

Starts from full dilatation of cervix and ends with delivery (expulsion of fetus from birth canal).

In primigrivida; 1-2hrs

In multigravidae; 30 minutes 

Events in 2nd stage

1. Propulsive Phase

Start from full dilation of cervix upto descent of presenting part to pelvic floor.

2. Expulsive Phase

Maternal bearing down efforts and ends with delivery of baby.
