heart and blood vessels

Carries blood away from heart, transport it to tissues of body and then returns it to heart.

1. Arteries

2.Vein

3. Capillary

Arteries

Carry blood away from the heart to organ and tissue of body.

All arteries carry oxygenated blood, except; pulmonary arteries.

Vein

Transport blood to heart

All vein carry deoxygenated blood except pulmonary vein(4).

Capillary

Capillary bed, capillary is small blood vessel, network 10-100 capillaries is called capillary bed.

Major Vessels of Heart

Vessels returning blood to the heart includes are-

1 Superior venacava

2. Inferior venacava

3. Right pulmonary vein

4. Left pulmonary vein

(Which brings oxygenated blood)

Vessels conveying blood away from heart include-

1. Right pulmonary arteries

2. Left pulmonary arteries

(deoxygenated blood)

3. Aorta

1. Brachiocephalic trunk

2. Left common carotid artery

3. Left subclavian artery

(Oxygenated blood)

Atria of Heart

Atria are receiving chamber of the heart.

Blood enters to right atrium from superior venacava and inferior venacava through coronary sinus.

Blood enters left atrium from pulmonary veins.

Ventricles of heart

Ventricles are discharging chambers of heart.

Right ventricle pumps blood into pulmonary trunk through pulmonary artery.

Left ventricle pumps blood into aorta and sends (oxygenated blood) that blood into systemic circulation.
