Vector
It is living organism which carries microorganisms or parasites and is capable of transmitting them from one person to another.
1. Mechanical vector
In which pathogenic organisms remains attached with it but donot multiply or develop it.
For example; House fly carry bacilli from contaminated material and transmit it from one place to another.
2. Biological vector
Mosquitos and ticks carry pathogen that can multiply with in their bodies and be delivered to new hosts, usually by biting.
For example; malaria infection, female Anopheles mosquito act as vector to transmit malarial parasite.
