Parasite Life Stage Terminology
Sporozoite; infective form of malarial parasite, present in salivary gland of female Anopheles mosquitoes. By asexual multiplication many sporozoites formed and enter mosquito salivary glands.
Sporozoite enter in human by bite of mosquitoes. Oocyst contain sporozoites.
Schizogony; in liver multiple asexually called schizogony.
Gametogony; Develop in RBCs, these are sexual form.
Merozoites; attack red blood cells.
Trophozoites; morphological change, grow in size, active growing stage of protozoan parasite.
Gametocytes; formation of gametocytes in human host, transferred to mosquitos and convert gametes in mosquito stomach.
Microgametocyte (male); in mosquito Macrogametocyte changes into microgamete (sperm).
Macrogametocyte (female); in mosquito Macrogametocyte changes into Macrogamete (ova).
Schizonts; mature form of sporozoites.
Form of parasite transmitted to human in Saliva of Anopheles mosquitoes.
Rostettes;rose like making forms
Schizogony; asexual production by multiple fission founded specially parasitic sporozoans.
Sporozoans; Parasitic sporozoans.
Sporogony; Asexual process of spore formation in parasitic sporozoans.
