1. Adjust winter clothes for winter with more layer

 

Adjust winter clothes for winter need more than one layer of warm clothes and should wear to your children warm boots, glove, shocks, hat to prevent exposure to cold.

 

2. Avoid children contact with sick with cold or flu

 

Keep your away from those who are currently suffering from cold and flu. Children may have a weak immune system, affected by that person.

 

 

3. Minimize or avoid infection in the surrounding area

 

Must ensure your living surrounding area is clean and tidy. To avoid infection you can use the disinfectant liquid. This will protect your children to spread germs.

 

4. Drinking of water

 

If your children are school-going age, take a reusable water bottle to school. School water supply may contaminate with germs, especially during cold and flu season.

 

5. Teach your children handwashing technique

 

You must teach the children how to wash your hand. There are 7 hand washing techniques. This habit keeps your children healthy.

9. Warming diet

 

Provide your child warming notorious diets such as anjeer, dates, honey, Jaggery, nutritious soups, dry fruits, eggs, fruits, and vegetables.

A warming diet keeps your child internally warm and improve the immune system and fight against infection.

 

10. Keep your child hydrated

 

Stay hydrated is very important for every individual. Kids lose more water through respiration.

The Winter season makes children's skin dry, so it is necessary to keep your children hydrated.

You can give your children herbal tea, golden milk (mix turmeric powder), ginger, warm spices cinnamon, black pepper (Kadha), and water-filled fruits.

 

11. Watch for a danger sign

 

Keep eye on children, if children have signs of Frostbite (an injury caused by freezing of the skin and underlying tissues) - skin becomes very cold and red then numb, hard and pale,  grey or blistered skin on a finger, ear, nose, toes, cheeks, and chin.

And if the sign of hypothermia is shivering, slurred speech, and unusual clumsiness.  

 

12.  Protect kids skin, mouth, lip, chubby chick

 

In the winter season protect your baby's skin to become dry or relieve dry, itchy skin during winter.  You can contact your Pediatrician/ child specialist for a recommendation.

Moisturize your children's skin, surrounds lip, mouth, and chubby chick.

Drying causes the licking to the lip, which leads to irritation on the lip around the skin. You can apply petroleum jelly all around your mouth kid.

Care for your Children with Specific Medical Condition during Winter

 

During winter you have to observe your child-related to-

 

1. Asthma

Changes in weather and cold often triggered asthma. Cold air can result in shortness of breath caused by a tightening of the airways, a common asthma symptom.

If your child having asthma maybe get worse during winter.  Start the asthma preventive medicine as per the doctor’s recommendation.

You must know about the asthma management plan, in case your child starts coughing or has asthma-like symptoms and signs, contact your doctor.

 

2. Chronic coughing

 

As per the pediatrician, cough during cold and flu season, get sick and develop chronic cough in your children. So you must have to take preventive measures overcome to sickness.

 

3. Dry skin

 

Lack of humidity from cold and dry air inside often leads to itchy.

Skin during winter especially around the mouth causes Perioral dermatitis (inflammatory rash involving the skin around the mouth).

 

4. Eczema

 

If kids are suffered from eczema symptoms, with eczema often red, itchy skin but in winter get worsen. Talk to your doctor, about what are preventive measures to get rid of eczema.

 

5. Nosebleeds

 

Nosebleeds in children during the winter months can be caused by dry air.

Keep in mind that kids can also get a nosebleed when they have colds, sinus infections, or allergies.

You have to contact a doctor as per the recommendation you can apply preventive measures for your child's nose bleeding with use of nasal gel, nose moist.
